Registered Vessels of the FPA

Captain: Provisional Pirate King Brian, Fiercest Pirate ever to sail the Spanish Main and the Seven Seas

Crew: Jenna Brewer, Cameron West, Eric Bean, anyone else not registered to another vessel.

The Constitution for the Future Pirates of America (FPA)

I.                    The Code

A.    Everyone shall obey orders.

B.     Booty shall be shared as follows: 1 share to every ordinary seaman, 1 ½ shares to the Captain, and 1 ¼ shares to Corsairs and anyone in position over the Captain (Commodore, Pirate King, etc.).

C.    Those who fall behind shall be left behind.

D.    Anyone keeping a secret or attempting to desert will be marooned. They will take only a bottle of water and a pistol with a single shot.

E.     Captives have the right to invoke parley. Captives under the protection of parley are not to be harmed and must be taken directly to the Captain.

F.     Anyone being lazy or failing to clean his weapons will lose his or her share of the booty.

G.    Everyone in the crew may vote on important decisions on a crew level.

H.    Gambling with cards and money aboard ship is forbidden.

I.       No one may leave they crew until each man has made 1,000 doubloons.

II.                 Organization

A.    Division of Seas:

1.      Siegel—The area zoned Siegel is called “The Spanish Main.” The school itself is called “Tortuga.”

2.      Oakland—The area zoned Oakland is called “Off The Pampas.” The school itself is called “Buenos Aires.” 

3.      Riverdale—The area zoned Riverdale is called “The South China Sea.” The school itself is called “Singapore.”

4.      Blackman—The area zoned Blackman is called “The Barbary Coast.” The school itself is called “Algiers.”

B.     Hierarchy

1.      Pirate King/Queen

a.       The Pirate King/Queen is the head of the FPA.

b.      He/she is a Commodore elected by popular vote by the other Commodores.

c.       May be removed from office at any time by popular vote of the Commodores.

d.      The Pirate King/Queen is awarded the title “Fiercest Pirate ever to sail the Seven Seas” for the duration of their term in office.

e.       The Pirate King/Queen is responsible for organizing the festivities for National Talk Like A Pirate Day, and any other Pirate outings.

2.      Commodore

a.       The Commodore is the highest ranking pirate in any given Sea.

b.      The Commodore is elected by popular vote of the Captains in their Sea.

c.       The Captains of a Sea may vote their Commodore out of office with a majority vote.

d.      The Commodore of a Sea is granted a title (“Fiercest Pirate ever to sail the Spanish Main” for Siegel, “Fiercest Pirate ever to sail off the Pampas” for Oakland, “Fiercest Pirate ever to sail the South China Sea” for Riverdale, and “Fiercest Pirate ever to sail the Barbary Coast” for Blackman.) for the duration of his/her term.

3.      Captain

a.       The Captain is head of his/her crew, and is selected by a crew before registration to serve as Captain.

b.      The only way a crew can get rid of their Captain is for the entire crew to mutiny and try to register as a new crew. The crew seeking registration gets to keep the ship, and the ex-Captain leaves with nothing.

4.      Corsair

a.       A Corsair is a crewman recognized for particular bravery or accomplishment while serving aboard his/her ship.

b.      The Pirate King/Queen may grant one person from each Sea the title of Corsair each month.

5.      Mate—A Mate is an ordinary crewman.

6.      Cabin Boy/Girl

a.       A Cabin Boy/Girl is a pirate just starting out.

b.      Captain’s may promote their respective Cabin Boys/Girls to Mate when they feel that the pirate is ready and has had significant experience.

A.    Registration

1.      People seeking to form new crews in the FPA must register with the Pirate King/Queen.

2.      Requirements

a.       In order to register with the Pirate King/Queen, there must be at least four members in the crew seeking registration.

b.      The crew must have voted on their Captain and their ship’s name.

c.       Each member of the crew must recite the Code before the Pirate King/Queen, and the Commodore of the Sea they would be sailing.

3.      The Pirate King/Queen gives the new Captain a Commission saying that the crew, ship, and Captain are all official parts of the FPA.

              4.   Ships/crews are registered into the Sea of their Captain, but members of the crew don’t have to be from the same Sea.
